These terms cover your use of www.leadershiptap.com and the free tools we run at apps.leadershiptap.com, including the LEQ Checkup (together, "the site"). The site is run by Leadership Tap, LLC, of South Bend, Indiana ("Leadership Tap", "we", "us"). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Our client work is covered separately

Coaching, training, workshops and partnerships are governed by the proposal or agreement we sign with you. Where that agreement and these terms disagree, the agreement wins.

Using the site

You're welcome to read the site, share links to it, and print or download pages for your own use or for use inside your own organization. Please don't:

• copy, sell or republish our articles, tools or materials as your own, or use them to run programs for others, without our written permission;
• try to break, overload or get around the site's security, or flood our forms with automated submissions;
• submit someone else's name or email address without their permission.

Our content

The articles, worksheets, guides, the LEQ Checkup and its reports, our logos and the Leadership Tap name belong to Leadership Tap or to the people who licensed them to us. Free downloads are for your own use and your own team's. Some materials we recommend are the work of other authors, and they stay theirs.

What you send us

When you fill in a form or take a checkup, you're telling us that what you send is accurate and yours to share. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with it.

Your checkup report

Your LEQ Checkup report lives at a private link. Anyone who has that link can open the report, so share it only with people you want to see it.

Links to other sites

The site links to other websites, such as LinkedIn and book publishers. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for them.

No warranties

The site and its free tools are provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep them accurate and running, but we don't promise they'll be error-free, uninterrupted or right for your particular purpose.

Limit on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Leadership Tap is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or any lost profits, that comes from using the site or its free tools. Our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100). This doesn't limit anything we've agreed to in a signed client agreement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana. Any dispute about the site will be heard in the state or federal courts serving St. Joseph County, Indiana.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this section. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

General information, not professional advice

Everything on this site is general information about leadership: the articles, the Weekly Insider, downloads, workshop descriptions and the results of our free tools. It isn't legal, HR, employment, medical, mental-health or financial advice. For a decision in any of those areas, please talk to a qualified professional who knows your situation.

The LEQ Checkup and our other self-assessments

The LEQ Checkup is a tool for self-reflection. Your score comes from your own answers on the day you took it. It shows which leadership habits are already in place and which ones are worth building, and it is meant to start a conversation. It isn't a psychological test, a diagnosis or a performance review. Please don't use it, or any of our self-assessments, as the only basis for a hiring, promotion, pay or other employment decision about anyone.

An organizational checkup reflects the view of the person who answered it.

Results vary

Our stories, examples and case studies describe particular clients in particular situations. Your results depend on your people, your circumstances and your follow-through, and we can't promise any specific outcome from reading the site or using our tools. This doesn't change our Risk-Free Alignment Guarantee, which is set out below.

Other people's work

We sometimes recommend books, models and tools by other authors. We recommend them because we find them useful. We aren't affiliated with those authors unless we say so.

Accuracy

We work to keep the site accurate and current, but it may contain mistakes or information that has gone out of date. If you spot something, please tell us at hello@leadershiptap.com.

Leadership Tap, LLC ("we", "us") is a leadership training and coaching practice in South Bend, Indiana. This policy explains what we collect through www.leadershiptap.com, through the public tools on apps.leadershiptap.com (including the LEQ Checkup), and through our Weekly Insider emails. It also explains what we do with that information. We collect only what we need to reply to you, give you what you asked for, and understand how the site is used. We don't sell your information.

Information we receive while delivering coaching, training or other client work is covered by our agreement with that client, not by this policy.

What you give us

• The contact form: your name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, what you're interested in, and your message.
• The Weekly Insider sign-up: your name and your email address.
• The LEQ Checkup: your name, your email address and your answers, plus your organization's name on the organizational checkup. If you use "Email My Results", we also keep the address you send the report to.
• Assessments and tools we run for client organizations, such as the Conflict Posture assessment and the Capacity Calculator: your name, your email address, your answers, and anything else the tool asks for, such as your job title. If an assessment asks about another person, we also store the name you give for them.

What's collected automatically

• Your visits. Google Analytics and HubSpot record which pages are viewed, how you arrived, your browser and device type, and your approximate location, worked out from your IP address. If you later fill in one of our forms or take the LEQ Checkup, HubSpot can connect those earlier visits to you. Our Cookie Policy below has the details.
• Advertising. HubSpot places Google's advertising tag on www.leadershiptap.com and on the LEQ Checkup pages. It records that your browser visited, so Google can show you Leadership Tap ads on other websites and tell us whether an ad led to a visit.
• Your IP address, to stop spam. Our forms read your IP address to block spam and repeated submissions. We hold it only briefly and don't save it in our database. On www.leadershiptap.com, Cloudflare Turnstile also checks it when you send a form. When you send one of our forms or submit the LEQ Checkup, your IP address goes to HubSpot along with your details.
• Technical logs. The company that hosts our sites keeps short-lived logs of requests. These can include your IP address and, for the contact form, your email address.

How we use it

• To answer your message and talk with you about working together.
• To show you your LEQ Checkup report and, if you ask, to email it to you.
• To send you the Weekly Insider, if you sign up or leave the Subscribe box ticked.
• To deliver work your organization has hired us for.
• To understand how the site is used and make it better.
• To show our ads to people who have visited our site, and to see whether our ads work.
• To protect our forms from spam and abuse.
• To keep business records and meet our legal obligations.

More about the LEQ Checkup

• Your answers and results are stored in our database.
• Your report has its own private link. Anyone who has that link can open the report and download its PDF, so share it only with people you want to see it. The link keeps working until we delete your checkup.
• HubSpot receives your name, your email address, your organization's name (organizational checkup only), and whether you chose to subscribe. It never receives your answers, your score or your report link.
• If the Subscribe box is ticked when you submit, we add you to the Weekly Insider. Every issue has an unsubscribe link.
• "Email My Results" sends your report from info@leadershiptap.com. We keep a record of each address the report was sent to.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your personal information. Apart from the advertising described above, we share it only with companies that run parts of our business for us:

• HubSpot, for our customer records and for analytics on visits to our site.
• Constant Contact, to send the Weekly Insider.
• Microsoft 365, for our email, including contact-form messages and emailed checkup reports.
• Google, for Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads, and for the typeface on www.leadershiptap.com.
• Cloudflare, for spam protection on our forms.
• Render, which hosts our websites.
• Supabase, which runs the database behind the LEQ Checkup and our other tools.
• Airtable, which holds data for some of our tools, and checkup results from our earlier website.
• Clerk, which runs sign-in for our own team.
• Cloudinary, which hosts the images and downloads in our resource library.

If you use a tool as part of work your organization has hired us for, the people at your organization who run that work may also see what you enter.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.

Tracking by other companies

Google and HubSpot collect information about your visits to our site through their cookies, as described in our Cookie Policy. They may collect information about your activity over time, and on other websites that use their services, under their own privacy policies. Google uses what it collects to show you ads, including ours, on other websites.

How long we keep it

We don't delete records on a fixed schedule. We keep contact details and checkup results while they're useful to our relationship with you, and we delete them when you ask us to or when we no longer need them.

Your choices

• Stop the Weekly Insider with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every issue.
• See, correct or delete your information: email hello@leadershiptap.com. We'll reply within 30 days, and we may ask you to confirm the request comes from you.
• Stop ads based on your visits: turn off personalized ads in Google's My Ad Center at https://myadcenter.google.com, or use the opt-out pages listed in our Cookie Policy below.
• Turn off cookies: see our Cookie Policy below.

Keeping it safe

We use reasonable safeguards. Our sites use encrypted connections, and our records and tools sit behind a sign-in that only our team holds. No website can promise complete security, but we take care with what you trust us with.

Children

The site is for working adults and isn't meant for children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you think we have, tell us and we'll delete it.

If you're outside the United States

We're based in the United States. Your information is handled in the US, and some of our service providers may process it in other countries.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this section.

Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser so it can recognize the browser again later. This section lists the cookies on www.leadershiptap.com and on the public pages of apps.leadershiptap.com, such as the LEQ Checkup, and explains how to turn them off.

Cookies that count visits

These help us understand how people find and use the site, so we can make it more useful. They don't contain your name or email address.

• _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, set by Google Analytics (loaded through Google Tag Manager) on www.leadershiptap.com. They count visits and show which pages are read and how people arrived. They last up to 2 years.
• __hstc and hubspotutk, set by HubSpot on www.leadershiptap.com and on the LEQ Checkup pages. They recognize a returning browser. If you later fill in one of our forms or take the LEQ Checkup, they let us see which of our pages you read before getting in touch. They last up to 6 months.
• __hssc and __hssrc, set by HubSpot. They tell one visit apart from the next. __hssc lasts 30 minutes and __hssrc ends when you close your browser.

Cookies for advertising

These let us show Leadership Tap ads, on Google and on other websites, to people who have visited our site, and tell us whether an ad led to a visit. HubSpot places Google's advertising tag on www.leadershiptap.com and on the LEQ Checkup pages.

• _gcl_au, set by Google Ads on our own address. It connects a visit to the ad that led to it. It lasts 90 days.
• IDE, set by Google on doubleclick.net. Google uses it to show you ads, including ours, on other websites. It lasts up to 2 years.

Google is the only advertising company whose tags run on our site.

Cookies that keep things working

• __client_uat, and __client and __session once someone signs in, set by Clerk. Clerk runs sign-in for our own team on apps.leadershiptap.com. Its script also loads on the public pages there, so it may set __client_uat for any visitor. That cookie holds a timestamp and nothing about you.
• __cf_bm and _cfuvid, set by Cloudflare, which protects the servers that HubSpot and Clerk run. They help those servers tell people from bots, and they last 30 minutes or until you close your browser.
• cc_admin, set by our Capacity Calculator only when a client organization's administrator signs in to it. It lasts 12 hours.
• Saved in your browser: the Capacity Calculator keeps what you type in your browser's own storage, so it's still there when you come back. It doesn't leave your device.

Things that load from other companies but set no cookies

• Cloudflare Turnstile, on the forms at www.leadershiptap.com, checks that a form is being sent by a person and not a bot. It looks at basic signals from your browser and your IP address, and it doesn't use cookies.
• Google Fonts supplies the typeface on www.leadershiptap.com. Your browser fetches it from Google, which sees your IP address. No cookie is set.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent information about you to anyone.

Turning cookies off

• Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. The site still works without them, including the forms and the LEQ Checkup.
• Google offers a free browser add-on that stops Google Analytics on every site: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
• To stop Google showing you ads based on your visits, turn off personalized ads in Google's My Ad Center: https://myadcenter.google.com.
• The advertising industry's own opt-out pages cover Google and other ad companies: https://optout.aboutads.info and https://optout.networkadvertising.org.
• Many browsers block tracking cookies like these by default, or have a setting that does.

"Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal. The site doesn't currently change what it does when it receives one. To stop the cookies above, use your browser's settings or the opt-outs listed above.
